Kac-Moody algebras are named after independent papers by Victor Kac and Robert Moody both published in 1968. These algebras, especially affine Lie algebras, have various applications in theoretical and mathematical physics (for example in conformal field theory and theory of exactly solvable models), geometry, etc.

This special issue is devoted to 40th anniversary of Kac-Moody algebras.

The topics include

• Kac-Moody and generalized Kac-Moody algebras;
• Virasoro algebras and super Virasoro algebras;
• affine Lie algebras;
• quantum affine algebras;
• vertex operator algebras;
• any applications of above algebras in mathematical and theoretical physics.

How to Submit an Article to the Issue.

The length of an article is not limited. Deadline for paper submission is September 15, 2008.

Publication will be done only on the results of the peer review according to refereeing policy of SIGMA.

If you have your paper ready earlier than the deadline, we encourage you to send it now. We will start the reviewing process and publish the paper as soon as the positive publication decision is made. The paper will be indexed in the relevant databases as soon as it is published without waiting for completion of the special issue.
