The impact of the contributions of Élie Cartan (1869–1951) to differential geometry is still strongly felt today, particularly in the areas manifolds with special geometric structures, submanifold geometry and exterior differential systems, and this special issue of SIGMA aims to present some contributions that reflect the central place of Élie Cartan's legacy in contemporary differential geometry.

Deadline for paper submission is April 9, 2009 – the 140th anniversary of Élie Cartan.

Possible topics for papers include

Even though Lie groups are not one of the specific topics covered in the volume, they are a recurring theme throughout the contributions of the volume.

How to Submit an Article to the Issue.

The length of an article is not limited.

Publication will be done only on the results of the peer review according to refereeing policy of SIGMA.

If you have your paper ready earlier than the deadline, we encourage you to send it now. We will start the reviewing process and publish the paper as soon as the positive publication decision is made. The paper will be indexed in the relevant databases as soon as it is published without waiting for completion of the special issue.
